Edward Kline, the past president of the Andrei Sakharov Foundation, sent an email out at 9:24 pm tonight:

I regret to inform those who have not yet heard the news that Elena Bonner, the founder and past chair of the Andrei Sakharov Foundation, died today in Boston and Whitney Ellsworth, a longtime director of the Andrei Sakharov Foundation, died today at his home in Salisbury, Connecticut.
